Elementary

Elementary Faith Formation, for children in grades one through six who attend public school, is held on Wednesdays from 6:15 to 7:30 PM. Our curriculum develops, in an age-appropriate manner, the basic teachings of our Catholic faith. It is correlated to the four pillars of faith presented in the Catechism of the Catholic Church: our creed, our worship, our moral teaching, and our life of prayer. Topics include the Holy Trinity, the sacraments (especially Baptism, Eucharist, and Reconciliation), the Mass, the Church, and the Bible. Classes begin in September and run through May.

Our elementary curriculum is from the Blest Are We series.

Sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Eucharist

Our program (pdf) consists of several gatherings for parents only, meant to deepen their understanding of the sacraments and to help them prepare their children to receive them. There are also sessions for parents and children to experience together. Attendance at these classes is mandatory for both parents and children.

These classes differ in activities from the Wednesday evening Faith Formation classes and the religion classes taught at Catholic schools. Preparation for the sacraments is a parish activity and therefore students in both public schools and Catholic schools prepare together.
