Parish Outreach

In response to “Know, Love and Share Jesus,” we acknowledge and promote ministry, charity and justice in the parish and in the community.

BEFRIENDER MINISTRY*

BeFriender Ministers are parishioners who are trained to respond in the name of our church to the emotional and spiritual needs of our parishioners by bringing a caring, listening presence and a living reminder of God’s love. BeFriender Ministry may include visiting people who are homebound, those who are dying or grieving, and anyone experiencing difficult situations such as mental illness, family abuse and sudden or chronic illness. Some BeFrienders are trained to preside at wake services.

St. Joseph’s Parish is one of the sponsoring churches in the West Metro Grief Support Coalition, which offers weekly grief support groups. St. Joseph’s hosts the groups every two-three years.
