RCIA

RCIA, or the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults, introduces adults to the fundamentals of the Roman Catholic Faith. At St. Joseph, the process begins each fall and culminates in full membership into the Church during the Easter Vigil. Adults who have not received one or more of the sacraments of initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist) are invited to join the RCIA process.

“We started coming to St. Joe’s after moving from Michigan to Minnesota. We were happy to find such a warm and welcoming parish. Beth is a “cradle” Catholic, but David only recently (2005) joined the Catholic Church. Father Dvorak invited us both to attend the RCIA class that began last fall. As a cradle Catholic and as a recent convert, we both deepened our knowledge of our Catholic faith. We enjoyed Father Dvorak’s focus on the “why” behind Catholic practices and the fundamental teachings of the church. His great love of the church and her history were evident and made the classes enjoyable every week. The RCIA program at St. Joseph’s is a wonderful way to learn the truths of our Catholic faith.”

“I was born in Havana, and came to the United States in 1955. I began attending St. Joseph’s RCIA classes and I learned a lot about the Catholic faith and the story of Jesus. Father Dvorak made the class more interesting and enjoyable. I am happy being part of this wonderful church and the people I have met. God bless you all.”
